{"id":2660,"date":"2025-09-25T14:07:57","date_gmt":"2025-09-25T14:07:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/timesofpakistan.tv\/?p=2660"},"modified":"2025-09-25T14:07:57","modified_gmt":"2025-09-25T14:07:57","slug":"teen-accounts-launch-on-facebook-messenger-in-pakistan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/timesofpakistan.tv\/index.php\/2025\/09\/25\/teen-accounts-launch-on-facebook-messenger-in-pakistan\/","title":{"rendered":"Teen accounts launch on Facebook, Messenger in Pakistan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Meta has begun rolling out its Teen Accounts feature in Pakistan, expanding the safety tool to local users of Facebook and Messenger.<\/p>\n<p>The feature, designed to provide a safer and more age-appropriate experience for teenagers, was previously launched worldwide on Instagram.<\/p>\n<div class=\"ads_between_content\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1523347432315-11\" class=\"story_ads\" data-google-query-id=\"CO60vsSK9I8DFfpDpAQd9ZcKjw\">\n<p>With this expansion, Pakistani teens will now join hundreds of millions of global users already placed in Teen Accounts across Meta\u2019s platforms.<\/p>\n<p>The move marks a continuation of Meta\u2019s efforts, introduced a year ago, to enhance digital safety standards for young users.<\/p>\n<p>The feature is designed to strengthen online safety by automatically limiting who teens can interact with, filtering the content they see, and promoting healthier screen time.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Teen Account protections were designed to address parents\u2019 top concerns with automatic protections to limit who their teens are talking to online and the content they\u2019re seeing, and ensure their time is well spent,&#8221; a Meta statement read.<\/p>\n<p>It added, &#8220;While there\u2019s always more work to be done, we\u2019re encouraged to see that Teen Accounts are bringing parents more peace of mind when it comes to their teens\u2019 online experiences.<\/p>\n<p>Meta said that it will start placing teens who are new to the app, and teens who are already using Facebook and Messenger, into Teen Accounts as early as this week in Pakistan.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;As part of Meta\u2019s commitment to supporting parents and protecting teens, the organisation is always working on new ways to keep teens safe on its apps.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Adam Mosseri, Head of Instagram, said, \u201cWe want parents to feel good about their teens using social media. We know teens use apps like Instagram to connect with friends and explore their interests, and they should be able to do so without worrying about unsafe or inappropriate experiences.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added, \u201cTeen Accounts are designed to give parents peace of mind. Since launching on Instagram a year ago, we\u2019ve added limits on teens going Live, more restrictions in DMs, and also improved our ability to make sure people are in age-appropriate experiences.
